On Saturday, 26 April, the Dreamonkey team returned to the playing field at Warrior Park, an urban airsoft arena in the province of Reggio Emilia. For the second year in a row, our event manager Alessandro brought us together to test our physical fitness, cunning, and strategy.

Once again this year, we shared the experience with some of the people who are part of our business galaxy. Matteo Cocconcelli, Mattia Morlini, and Nicoletta Chiera from Pindarica. Marco Bassoli from Robotizr, Stefano Canepari from FenicePool and Luca Sorgiacomo from ProgressLab.

Creating mixed teams and discussing tactics allowed us to skip the pleasantries and break the ice right away, focusing on a concrete goal. After facing each other on the playing field, we had lunch together, putting aside our guns and chatting, already ‘warmed up’ by the game.

Last year, we already made some interesting observations about the contribution that airsoft can make as a recreational group activity. This year, those same impressions have resurfaced, followed by other thoughts arising from new game situations. Communication and coordination are essential to victory, and any solo action, if poorly orchestrated, can jeopardise the final result. Like being accidentally hit by your own team for not making your intentions clear while moving, or losing sight of the match objective because you are overwhelmed by the urge to get into action at all costs. The list could be longer.

All that is left to do is eagerly await next year’s event. Thank you to everyone who participated, and who knows who will join the fray in 2026!
